Sponsor Us

We’re cycling for The Peter Root & Mary Thompson Charitable Trust, a Guernsey registered foundation (no. CH437/RMG) set up to raise money in support of a variety of inspirational causes, and in memory of my sister Mary and her boyfriend Pete, who were killed in a cycling accident last year.

The trust is currently supporting the Bridge2 project, a Guernsey-based charity set up to help rebuild communities in Sri Lanka, Haiti and the Philippines devastated by recent natural disasters; and will also be channelling money into other initiatives that reflect the interests of Mary and Pete over the coming months.

Current HMRC regulations mean that because the trust is registered in Guernsey, we can’t raise money through JustGiving or similar online sites (which is a bit of a pain in the arse, TBH). So instead we’re having to resort to more antiquated means.

If you would like to sponsor us, you can donate direct to the the trust’s account via bank transfer, using the following details:

  • Mr FJ Root RE Charity Account
  • Sort code: 20-35-32
  • Account number:  13899098

Please be sure to include your name as a reference so we can trace your donation. It would also be great if you could leave a short message in the comments section to let us know, too!

Alternatively, cheques can be made payable to:
